About the Book

When you live with chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) or fibromyalgia (FMS), your life is a constant challenge. There’s so much to know and cope with beyond just the symptoms and treatments. From learning how to deal with diminished energy and constant pain, to finding doctors who really understand your illness, to dealing with the emotional devastation of losing the life you once enjoyed, this book is your guide through the four phases of dealing with your illness—searching, transforming, accepting, and finally, taking flight and finding renewed joy in your life. In addition to offering practical advice for each phase, the author shares her personal story of dealing with both the physical and emotional aspects of her illness.

This book provides tips for making your life easier; exercises that can help you move through the phases of a chronic illness; invaluable insights about successfully applying for Social Security disability benefits; sample forms for tracking your symptoms, communicating with your doctors, and managing your medications; and much more!
